OBJECT The object of Gigglerz, a classic 2-player strategy game, is to connect 4 gigglers in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row. In the “Classic” game mode, the first player to place four tokens in a row wins. In the “Extra” mode, the player who accumulates the most points before filling the board wins. Points are accumulated according to the value of each slot filled and for each 4-token sequence created.
This version of the game is available in both single-player mode (played against your TV) and in 2-player mode (played with a friend).
HOW TO PLAY
Classic Mode Each player is assigned a color – Green or Orange. The player with the Green Gigglerz (smiley tokens) starts the game. The players take turns in “dropping” Gigglerz in one of the columns. Use the Left and Right arrows to select a column, and press Select to release a Giggler. A Giggler falls into the lowest empty slot in the selected column. This means that a Giggler can only fall on another Giggler, or in the first horizontal row, provided the column isn’t full. Each player must add a Giggler in turn.
If the added Giggler creates a sequence of four consecutive tokens in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row, the player wins. If a sequence has not been created, the other player takes a turn. Players continue to take turns until the board is full (tied game), or until a player wins as described above.
Extra Mode In Extra mode, each space is randomly assigned points before the game begins. There are three Free-Move tokens on the board, each providing the player on this spot an extra move. When dropping a Giggler, players collect the points and Free-Move tokens on the spaces occupied by their Gigglerz.
The game does not end after a player creates a sequence of four Gigglerz. The game continues until the board is full. The first player to connect four Gigglerz earns 40 bonus points. All additional sequences earn the player 15 bonus points each. A bonus is not awarded for creating a sequence of five (or more) Gigglerz if a bonus was already awarded when the fourth Giggler was added. However, when a five-piece Giggler sequence is created by dropping a Giggler between two smaller sets of giggler clusters already on the board, a bonus is awarded.
The game ends when the board is full. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner. |
