MONOPOLY® Express
OBJECT
Be the first player to earn the target amount by collecting color groups.
On each turn, you’ll roll the dice one or more times to collect money by completing color groups. The trick is to know when to stop rolling: If you roll all 3 Go to Jail dice, you’ll lose everything you’ve collected during your turn!

HOW TO PLAY - YOUR TURN
1. Roll the dice.
Roll the dice by pressing the 2 key on the remote control.
Then, depending on what you have rolled, the following takes place:

The Policeman: Is automatically placed on a matching Go to Jail game board square. If you roll all 3 Policemen, your turn is immediately over!

GO: You collect $200. $200 are automatically added to your scoring table.

2. Place dice in color groups.
Look at the remaining dice you have rolled, and decide which groups you want to collect. Here are your options:

Properties: These are the solid-color squares. Each property is worth a certain dollar value if you roll enough dice to complete the group (for example, if you complete the light blue group, you’ll earn $1,000). After you complete a property group, you may try to collect houses and even a hotel!
Hints: The more valuable the color group, the less frequently that color appears on the dice, so the harder it is to roll. Also, placing dice for one color group on the game board may limit your chances of completing another color group!

Railroads: These four gray squares are worth $2,500 if you roll enough dice to complete the group.

Utilities: These two black squares are worth $800 if you roll enough dice to complete the group.
After deciding which group(s) you want to collect, press SELECT on the dice to place them on their matching squares.

Chance: This acts as a wild die - you may place a Chance die on a square in any property group. Only one Chance is allowed per property group.

Blanks: If you roll a blank, it is worth nothing and may not be submitted for anything else.

3. Roll again or end your turn.
You can roll the dice as many times as you want. Rolling the dice increases your chances of collecting color groups, but it also increases your chances of going to jail and losing all your money!
After placing any dice on the game board, decide if you want to roll the remaining dice.
Hint: Before deciding, you can press the 5 key on the remote control to view the sides of each die. This will help you calculate if the odds of rolling what you want are high enough to risk another roll.
If you decide to roll again, follow steps 1 through 3 again.
If you decide to end your turn, press the 3 key on the remote control and your score for that turn will be updated on the scoring table.
Note: You may undo the last die move by pressing the 4 key on the remote control.

GOING TO JAIL

If you fill all 3 of the Go to Jail squares with Policeman dice, your turn immediately ends and you do not score anything for this turn.

COMPLETING A PROPERTY GROUP
You complete a property by filling all of the squares in a solid color group. After completing a property the house/hotel die will be added to the remaining dice the next time you roll. You can now collect houses, or even a hotel!

INCOMPLETE COLOR GROUPS
If you have incomplete color groups when you decide to end your turn, you will be awarded for the incomplete color group with the highest value. The value is the addition of the amount shown on each individual die in the color group.
Note: A Chance die in an incomplete color group has no value.

THE HOUSE/HOTEL DIE
This die will be rolled after completing a property group, to try to collect houses or a hotel. Then, depending on what you have rolled the following takes place:

House: One house is added to your scoring table. You may collect only 4 houses during a single turn.

Broken House: One of your houses (if you have any) is removed.

Hotel: One hotel is added to your scoring table. You may collect a hotel only if you have collected four houses.

Get Out of Jail Free: If you have any Policeman dice on the game board, one of those dice will be removed and returned to the remaining dice.

HOW TO PLAY – COMPUTER’S TURN
You may view all the actions the computer performs during its turn.
You may press SELECT in order to skip the computer’s turn.

SCORING
When you decide to end your turn, your score will be added up as follows:
o For each complete color group, you score the amount shown on the board for that group:
Color Group Dollar Values

o If you have any incomplete groups, you score the amount of the incomplete group with the highest value by adding the value of each die in that group.
o For each house you have collected, you score $1,000.
o For each hotel you have collected, you score $5,000.
The scoring table always displays each of the players’ total scores (excluding the current turn) and the previous turn scores. It also displays the components of the current player’s score:
1. Basic Score: The score awarded for the incomplete group of the highest value and completed Monopolies.
2. GO: The score awarded for collected GO dice.
3. House: The score awarded for collected houses.
4. Hotel: The score awarded for collected hotels.
5. Turn Score: The total score for the turn, composed of all four above components.
The winner of the game receives special bonus points:
Houses/Hotels Bonus – the more houses and hotels collected during the game, the greater the bonus.
Special Bonus – the fewer turns it takes you to win the game, the greater your bonus.
